Posted 4/6/2005 10:55 AM | | | Hi,
First of all I will say sorry for what I am about to post. I am no technical genius to say the least!
It seems my memory card in my 7610 has corrupted. I have had the phone rougly 1 month and it was working fine with the supplied 64MB card. All of a sudden after I start using the card the camera stops saving to the memory card and whenever I try to format it on the phone it says it is corrupt.
Do I need to buy a new card or can it be fixed by some miracle? Thanks in advance.

This can happen normally when read/write operations to the card are interrupted somehow, when phone is on low battery, or other apps/phone usage interrupts or battery is taken out, or card is removed whilst in use etc.. Anyways, don't panic it should be possible to restore your card to working order using a USB2 card reader and a PC. You can then follow one of our guides in the Repairing Cards forum to format your card to FAT16 again. This will lay a new filesystem down (all previous content will be gone, but it should then work again in your 7610. let us know how you get on. ps. when that card fills up, you know where to come to give your 7610 a memory boost Cheers

I managed to borrow a spare card from a friend that didn't need one and its working fine. Cheap memory cards supplied by Nokia? Must be a mistake. :-| |
