| | | | Is there a special technique or a tip for getting the usa maps I have on a Tom Tom SD card onto a 1Gb card using the 17 in 1 reader ( I've just bought both from you). I can copy files but there is no autorun. |

If in Windows you can ensure that it is copying all hidden/system files, but in fact, i am pretty sure TomTom are not using any of those files in their applications.
Just make sure to paste down the files into the same folder structure on the root of the card, just the same as it is on your TomTom SD card.
Thats should do the trick.. good luck!

Once I had done this and copied them over they copied to my new card just fine and has been running ever since.

You must make sure of at least two things. All the hudden system files are also transferred across, nad that yu copy all of the TT folders individually onto the root directory of your MMC, this will then automatically install TT onto your phone. You will know when its installed, as the TT logo will now appear in your menu.
THe problem you may have is that on your MMC, you will already have a folder called System. TT also comes with a folder called System, and when you copy TT files , it asks if you want to keep or replace the System folder.
Now, the thing is, I already had a few applications installed in my existing System folder, so didn't want to 'replace' the folder as this would then erase some existing files.
I then followed a slightly different process. I still copied all folders onto the root directory, and delibarately didn't copy TT System folder. Once all 11 or so folders were copied, I then transferred the TT 'System' folder into the recently added TT folder.
THis then means you need another file to actively install TT onto your phone, which is a .sis file - which I managed to find on the internet.
Loaded the sis file, then put MMC back into the phone, went into File manegr, found the sis file and this installed TT onto the phone, and it works great! |
