Hi,

I've recently pruchased a 2GB SONY card for my new K750i phone and I'm experiencing various problems with it, but I'm not sure if it's feature or faulty equipment. Any advice will be appreciated.

I've imported some of my CDs to the computer and converted it to MP3 format (VBR/CBR, Lame).

The thing is, that every time I'm connecting the K750i (2GB is in it) to my laptop, it starts uploading tracks with 300kB/s speed, but after a some amount of data it lowers the speed automatically to 50kB/s. To get the 300kB/s back, I need to unplug the device and connect it back. Anyone had the same problem before?

The other thing is that the copied files will not remain on the card. For example, I've copied two directories "FolderA" and "FolderB" as one action (selected two directories and press copy). Then, if I'll select "FolderC" to copy, it will copy the directory, but after I disconnect the phone from the computer, it actually wipe out the FolderC and I have to copy it again.

I'm using Total Commander 6.53 for the files copying.

Thank you in advance.

I've just checked if it's the card or not and seems that the card is OK. I've used the MOBYMEMORY MS PRO Duo Card Driver and the speeds are fine. It looks it's either the cable or the phone itself?

Any ideas?

No answer to this one yet? I have the same problem with copied folders disappearing.

I received my 2gb card today, and after about an hour of copying music and podcasts all but one folder disappeared when I disconnected the phone. Very annoying. I've ordered the USB2 MS PRO DUO Memory Card Reader, and I suppose that will solve it, but why is this happening?

Have just found this forum and it's a huge relief to discover that other people are having the same problems as me. I've got a brand new K7501 and a new 2gb card and the file handling is dreadful. I suspect tere are some real issues about either the dards or the phones (or, of course, both) that Sony aren't telling us about. So far the only response from their web site has benn to suggest I update the phone's software which wasn't required as it already had all the latest versions.

I find that I can eventually get about 1gb of mp3's onto the card but even that takes many attempts. Beyond the 1gb, forget it.

I've just ordered a new card reader so I'm really hoping that will solve the problem. Otherwise I can feel a refund from Sony coming on!

USB2 PRO DUO Card Readers are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for all big capacity 1GB and 2GB Memory Stick PRO DUO memory cards (from both Sony and SanDisk) that are for use with the Sony Ericsson W800i as well as the K750i and D750i.

Some customers have had big problems when using the supplied USB cable and phone PC software to manage content on their memory cards... with speed problems, corrupt files, and corrupt cards as well the end result.

We hope this is an issue that Sony Ericsson will address in their firmware releases, especially as we are now able to sell 1GB and 2GB capacities at much better prices .. (can anyone confirm if the problem is fixed in the Sony Ericsson W900i series ? )..

For capacities of 1GB and over, USB2 card readers are really an essential item anyway, because they are many times faster than the USB phone cable for transferring your music, video, games etc, and can be used to safely re-format cards, and can be used as a flash stick for carrying data between mulitple PCs as well as mobile phones and PSP machines..

Cheers
