| | I bought a mini SD (Sandisk) card from you a week ago. All was looking good when I put the mini SD card into my PC SD card slot and started copying files onto it. However it will only allow me to copy 619MB before i get this message "Error copying file or folder - cannot copy the file as the directory or file cannot be created". Have you sold me a dud memory card or am I being an IT incompetent? By the way - I have emailed your "support" email address and left messages on your support number and have not heard a dickie bird for a week - not very impressive. |

Could this be the FAT16 limit for number of files written to the root folder of file system..?
To explain, standard FAT file system which is probably how your SanDisk miniSD card is formatted, will only allow a certain number of files to be written to the root before it objects.. Depending on the length of your file names, this can vary from something shy of 100 files/folders, up to closer to 255.
- the solution, if this is your problem, is to create sub-folder/s and store your files in there.
- alternatively, you can format the card to FAT32 (this does not have the same file number limitation) using your Windows PC. Please note that not all mobile phones will accept a Fat32 memory card. (the recent Nokias and windows smartphones are ok with FAT32.., but not older ones).

| | im having the same problem kinda ive got an o2 ice phone and i have recently bought a 1gb kingston microsd memory card to put more songs on my phone. i put some songs on there and it worked fine... until my phone turned off and now my phone cant detect the memory card on the file manager computer software and it says that theres no memory on the card! ive also bought a card reader and it has detected the memory card and all the music files and it works fine. does anybody know whats going on?!?! and what can i do ? ive inserted and removed the card from the phone several times and it still doesnt work. its doing my head in!!!
