Lynman,

hi. you will need to verify the condition of your memory card via a memory card reader in a PC.

Check this article which covers the issue in more detail:

http://www.mobymemory.com/Content/Topic47.html

Have you changed the firmware in your SX1.? From memory, i know it used to take a long time formatting in the SX1, completing a sector by sector format of the card.

I suggest formatting your card to FAT16 via a card reader with your PC (as described at the end of the article above), and then re-try in your SX1. Hopefully that should sort you out.

Cheers

Lynman,

You will need to connect your memory card to a PC so that you can check its condition.

Have you or a friend got a memory card reader (USB, or PCMCIA) to connect your memory card to your PC.?

That way, you can follow the link top the guide i sent in last response and run ChkDsk against the memory card filesystem. It sounds like you need to reformat from your PC.

Cheers
