I co-ordinate a .mobi directory of sites @ Mobinomy ( http://www.mobinomy.com ), and am currently collecting views and opinions from mobile forums such as these for users' experience of .mobi sites (for reference, you can find a list of .mobi sites at Mobinomy...)...I'm specifically interested in your valuable opinions on the ease of navigation and usefulness of the information while using .mobi sites from a mobile phone, as well as any other inputs you might feel are relevant in this regard. It would be great to have inputs from users of different mobile handsets - Nokia, Samsung, LG, SE, Motorola etc...I hope to publish these results soon at the site.

NO GPS SIGNAL!!! route66 mobile 7 + BT-Q800 GPS

hi,

I have a nokia 6680, route66 mobile 7 (with update installed) and the following GPS receiver: BT-Q800. (bought from MobyMemory.com: http://www.mobymemory.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Bluetooth_GPS_Receiver_001&PARTNER=PriceRunner&Ref=DL001 .

When I run route66 all i get is the message: NO GPS Signal.

This is despite the fact that on my phone and the receiever, BT-Q800 is connected and paired. Also, in the route66 preferences I have it set to run off BT-Q800 as the default GPS receiver. In addition I on my receiver i get the flashing blue and orange lights signifying that my receiver is locked onto my phone and that the GPS position os fixed, respectvely. But still i get the message: NO GPS!

I ran the route66 update to see if this would help but no joy.

Can anyone help. It mentions port settings in the 1 page! of literature that came with the receiver, but nothing on how o check or adjust these.

Can anyone help???

Sim card reader

I'm having a problem with my card reader. It will recognise my old (3 years old) O2 sim card but will not recognise my Orange and O2 sims I currently use. I was wanting to backup from one to the other to keep the phone books identical on both my phones.

Am I to take it the sim reader is faulty or is there an issue reading different sim cards? To be fair each sim card is quite different in terms of contact layout (oval / square designs).

Hi All

Sorry if this has been done, I did look first..

I have just bought a 6280 and all is fine except from the email client. I have phoned/emailed/gone into the shop with Vodafone who have sent me numerous different configs for the email client but it still doesn't work. All I get is an error message saying 'settings Contract Internet' and then the red stop sign saying 'subscribe to packet data first'.
I am subscribed to packet data and everything else i could be subscribed for. This is a contract phone by the way, oh and I am refering to the phones GUI and not Vodafone live (where it DOES work).
I got some quality help here with the last problem I had, with a 6230v1, so I wondered if any of the techies here could give me any clues. I am a Mobymemory customer btw..

Nokia 6111 and DKU-2 cable

Please, please, please can someone help out? This is driving me nuts!

I got a cable last week for my Nokia.. so that I can attatch it to the pc and download/upload pictures and music.. anyway after 4 hours of fiddling I could not do it.

The guy who I saw yesterday in town said it might've been the cable and gave me another DKU-2, and a DKU-5 cable..

It's the DKU-2 as the phone recognises it..

Anyway been trying to work it out all yesterday and most of today and I still cant get it to work properly! I've loaded, unloaded and re-loaded all the info - re-done all the drivers too, even downloaded stuff off net that was 'supposed' to help..

But nothing! Have rebooted puter so many times now and got no where nearer! The puter does not recognise it!

I have tried everything - I know a bit about puters and everything that I do know, I've done!

Any ideas.. please??

Have followed all advice about DKU-2 cables, but my puter isnt even recognising it.. I plug it in the USB then nothing! No noise from the puter or little icon to say new hardware found!

Was wondering if any you happened to have a nokia 8800 and any suggestions on somehow increasing it's battery life.

Are the external manufacturer batteries safe to use? The standard battery is 600mA whereas many manufacturers have made batteries which are 1000mA and claim to last longer.

Are they safe to use though? Ive read forums where people have refused to use them in case of damage and thus invalidated warranties.

Any suggestions?

On your site it says that your 2gb mini-sd is high speed and has the following speeds:
Read speed - 9mb per sec, Write speed - 8mb per sec

What speed does the "normal" sandisk 2gb mini-sd have? (I can't find any information about it on their website or on yours.)

Also, who is your manufacturer for these high speed moby mini-sd cards?

I have a Nikon 2200 camera and was wondering if I will be able to use my 1gb moby mmc with it. The only thing is my camera instruction book states use only SD memory cards. I am worried that if I use my mmc card it might have a bad effect on the camera, but have read that SD and MMC are sometimes compatible. Would really appreciate your thoughts on the matter

I will be purchasing the Nokia 6680 shortly and was just wondering if you had any ideas on whether or not your memory cards will be compatible with it. I bought a 256mb MMC for my 6600 and had absolute no problems with it so I'd love to have one for my new phone!

not sure if this has already been asked but i have just changed my phone over to a nokia n70 and i can not seem to be able to change the colour of the text, this is a problem when i have a dark theme and cant read my text messages. all help would be welcome on how i can change the colour of it.

Any sign of 2gb mini sd's?

Also if these are SLC who is making them? Can't be ATP as they are not even manufacturing 1gb's yet.

Or is it Teravit.

How can we confirm these are high speed SLC when they are rebranded as Moby Memory. Can we check the manafacturer spec's somewhere?

Was wondering if we can get an update on 2gb Mini Sd cards? They are definitely out there, but I can only find references to them on Japanese trade-show websites at the moment. Any idea on when we could expect these to arrive, and at what price?

nokia 6230i bluetooth

i was messing around with bluetooth with some mates last night and it came as a bit of a surprise to know that a T610 and a samsung something or other can access everything on my phone - there is an option to browse files (this is after i have switched bluetooth on and i have accepted data transfer and put in a passkey). This browse files option doesn't seem to be available on the nokia 6230 or 6230i - is it hidden away anywhere? Has anyone else noticed this?

Just brought a Nokia 6260 ...But haveing trouble with the Power..

Hi all, I just brought a new nokia 6260 and i put my T-mobile sim card in and the 32 rs-mmc card and i charged the battery then i turned it on and it seemed to freeze and all i get is a white background and the logo "Nokia" i left it for 5 mins then i just pressed the power button again to restart it and a message came up saying "invald sim card!" then it went to the white background with the nokia logo. then i turned it off again and turned it back on and it was fine.But it has done this a couple of times so im thinking could it be my phone is faulty or could it be my sim card because my sim card was in a 7250i and i reset the phone with a m/f bus cable and maybe i damaged the sim card by reseting the phone with the sim card in it, i dont know.

Any advise welcome. Should i try another simcard in it or is my 6260 faulty?

I ordered via NOCHEX yesterday a MobyMemory 128mb miniSD Memory Card and a USB2 20 in 1 card reader, and although I received the NOCHEX confirmation, I have not as yet recieved a confirmation email from moby memory. My Order number is 8102. Do you know if they have been dispatched yet?

how can 32mb and 1gb cards can all be exactly the same size, i mean 1gb cards are 32x bigger in capacity so, how can they be exactly the same size, its quite confusing. unless the 32mb card has basically nothing in it?? (hmm maybe i could take apart the nokia 32mb card i got with my phone?? :hehe

so yeah anyway if anyone could let me know how they manage this i would be appriactied.

and sorry if its a really stupid question, i was just wondering.

Yesterday i ordered a 256Mb R-MMC card and USB2 SD / MMC Memory Card Reader.
I got an email saying that you`ve recieved the order.
I also got an email of paypal to activate my account, and another to say that they`ve sent you some money.Do i get an email saying that the product/s have been shipped? As i`d like to know when i can expect them, so i can ensure that someone is in the house to sign for them.
What are the chances that i`ll get them by monday?
