Problems with 1GB ULTRA II microSD (Transflash) Sandisk

I have bought 1GB ULTRA II microSD (Transflash) Sandisk Memory Card for my Motorola A1000.

First one did not work at all, I got it replaced. Second one was working for like 15 seconds and then phone stopped responding. I tried to format the card in memory card reader. I got this message:

format f: /FS:FAT /X
Insert new disk for drive F:
and press ENTER when ready...
The type of the file system is RAW.
The new file system is FAT.
Verifying 968M
Invalid media or Track 0 bad - disk unusable.

Is there anything I can do or should I go for replacement again?

Now, I sent e-mails but I did not get any answer for like a week or so. I'll try here.

Are you aware of any problems with 1GB ULTRA II microSD (Transflash) Sandisk Memory Card with Motorola A1000 phones?

External memory Limit

It has come top my attention that there have been a release of a microSD memory with 1GB of storage room. My Q's are as follows:

is the 1GB microSD Memory module compatible with the A1000?
is there a built in limit or will the A1000 be able to take the 2GB microSD that will be released in the 2nd Q of 2006?
