I've also tried emailing support@mobymemory.com with no answers so far so i thought i'd try here.

I ordered one of your SiRD STAR III GPS receivers along with some memory just over a week ago

No problems with the memory and the GPS Device has been working fantastic, Very quick to get GPS Lock, and no issues with Bluetooth/Phone/Software.

At least that was until yesterday.

The Device still gets satellite lock ( Red Flashing LED ) and when I start my GPS software ( TrakPal or Pathfinder ) the blue LED starts flashing rapidly indicating Successful Bluetooth communications.

However both pieces of software indicate a bad GPS data stream, logging the NMEA GPS data sentences to a file, shows that the data is pure garbage, ive tried removing the device, and re making the Bluetooth partnership several times and also tried different com ports and baud rates ( normally com 8, 4800 baud ), but nothing seems to work. I've removed the battery for 30 mins then tried again but that doesn't seem to work either.

The device appears to be working fine ( gets sat lock and establishes Bluetooth coms ok ) except that its talking gibberish, I've also tried using WinFastCE GPS monitor which also confirms that the device is sending rubbish.

I'm pretty sure that something has gone haywire with the device and that it will need to be returned.

I'd like to try and move on this as quickly as possible as we are back out on track this Thursday and would like to use TrakPAL with the GPS.

Regards
Jason Walker

Ipaq HX4700 with 4GB Hi-Speed 150X SD MobyMemory card ??

4GB Hi-Speed 150X SD MobyMemory card + FREE READER

Anyone know if the above works with a Ipaq HX4700 PDA ??

Gussie

Qtek S110 - Integral 2Gb 80x high speed card doesn't work !

I just bought the Integral 2Gb 80x SD memory card and it doesn't work in my Qtek S110 (same as S100 but with 128Mb internal memory).

I checked the compatibility list when I bought it and it definately says "Qtek S100" so it should work, but when I insert it into the phone/pda it asks if I want to format the card. Our MobyMemory 1GB MMC memory card also works fine in the device, but in this instance i want to make use of the extra speed capacity of the Kingmax Platinum SD range (and so compatibility to more devices as with our MMC cards is not the top-priority here). You can buy this SD card from us here..

Now for a screenshot with 1GB being inserted in the top (hot-swappable slot):

Now we can see the available memory in your Pocket PC..

It works great.

Also, i have recently downloaded the excellent BetaPlayer from http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/ ..

I took a few screenshots with the Trailer tester copies of The Matrix and Fifth Element to give you an idea of what this thing can do in terms of quality playback..

i told you they looked good.

In terms of jerkiness, the processor in the Loox can pretty much handle the movie data stream to avoid any sudden jerkiness, but it is not absolutely seamless, but very close to, and eminently watchable. Remember that this is at full-resolution encoding (640x480), you can take down the quality of conversion encoding (in terms of resolution as well as compression) for smaller file sizes.

i have also heard that the HP hx4700 and Dell X30 perform really well with the BetaPlayer program, and not dropping any frames with the faster CPU (624mhz) at full native reoslution (640x480).

Thus a modern PDA is another option for getting portable movie playback, although a 1GB SD is only going to hold at most a few movies at one time.. And this is where a hi-speed data transfer (via a USB2 card reader is best for up to 10mb/per sec with our Kingmax SD's) is important to get your movies on there as quick as possible.

These PDAs are also great for GPS navigation, remote internet browsing, checking email etc..
