Hi ppl

With the introduction of the cheapo motorola c975 ( v975 comming soon I hope ) phone on 3 along with the new transflash memory, will anyone be creating a forum for it or are you waiting for new transflash to get more established in the mobile phone arena?

o2 wap gprs settings for moto c975 / v975

Hi ppl after getting my phone unlocked I'm now able to use my o2 sim in the c975.

I stopped using the 3pay sim because of that pathetic 30 credit limit.

So to get me back up and running up to full speed with the old o2 sim I needed the settings for wap/gprs.

o2 don't support the c975 but they are bringing out the v975 as one of there new 3g mobiles but for the mean time I'm using the setting for there moto t720i.

There are two settings links you need to follow and mix up to get the right combo for your phone tarrif.

Find " This can be done using our website or by " click on the "using our website" link. Another window will open and chose the Motorola link.

You will find o2 Wap and scroll down for o2 wap gprs settings.

Now add all these three link settings together and work out what details you need for pay monthly or pay and go.

Just about to input the wap gprs settings myself so I don't know if these settings even work yet but I thought I'd tell you anyway.

Sooner or later a guide...might appear here with every thing stuck together with glue and double sided tape maybe. Just moved and things are up in the air at the mo.

Oh yeah I forgot to tell you how to get to your wap/gprs profiles go to your 3 services in the main menu scroll up or down to Web Sessions and New Entry. Then input settings.

Found this while looking for a why to dismantel my c975 (got the screws out I just can't get the case off).

Trial run conversion 355MB to 24MB .3gp

It took half an hour for the program to convert a 355MB ep of a Gate to the Stars : Atlantis which is around 45mins long down to about 24MB .3gp file.

2.07GHz athlon XP, 256MB ram

There is only one problem which are the black post box effect borders.

Transflash and phone

Could somebody else do this as I can't get access to a cam that can take good pics of this transflash inserted into the slot.
The best cam I've got right now is one on the phone lol.

Got the A835 usb data cable today just waiting on the transflash now.

Don't know if the cable works just yet as i've got to go out boooooo!

Forget all that crap I wrote just now

Get mobile phone Tools install ( I think you need the usb drivers in the package) http://www.free.cz/motorola/

Just search for and download MOBILedit

Install it . run it.

Go to file and chose settings

Force it to use Motorola A835 as your mobile (I did, but somehow it's given my mobile the correct name in the Device tree)

Go to ports and check the box

Click ok

Go to file ( in the tree menu)

Open up explorer look for a tiny mp3 track about 178Kb and drag it over to the empty audio folder in files branch.

Check c975 in Multimedia > Sounds

You should now see the file and be able to play the mp3 without having to download it.

Not yet tried a mpg yet.

Without a transflash you are stuck with 3636Kb which is about 3.5MB I think.
So while your waiting for your trans flash try the method it won't hurt. Just copy and paste.

I think it's a lite version and it wont copy over mpgs.

Can't wait for my transflash now.

Transflash just came in @ 12.18 but guess what I've got to meet the Girlfriend @ 13.00 Booooooo!

Will also try to take some pics when I get back.

Just got a bit of time to put the flash in and check liking good.

Goto Storage Devices and pick the card. It says total 123008Kb

From sony t68i slowbile to moto c975

Just bought the phones, one NEC e616v and a c975 for Christmas presents for my sis and her daughter. So my neice is out the country so I'm " field testing " the phone .

I've just orderd two usb cables for the MOTOROLA A835/A920/A925 USB DATA CABLE £4.99 each from a shop on ebay ( better than paying £22.99 from motorola). I read on an other forum that the old cable works on the new phone.
Also ordered one 128MB transflash from MobyMemory just to test this technology out.

I own a awful sony t68i slowbile phone thing on O2 so it was time to upgrade and I couldn't belive the features and the speed on the phone compared to the t68i.

When I saw the c975 in the display window in the shop the screen did look tiny from a distance but now I've got it, it feels just fine.
It's not to heavy and so you know what pocket you put it in.
At first you will think to yourself what the f>>K! look at the size of that brick !
For some really strange reason though the silver blues and silvers and it's Audi TT like curves grow on you. Just give it time. I don't think a black version would work though.
My key pad power up buttons contact underneath the key might have sliped on my phone but the rest of the pad gives me that little click when pressed. The control stick thing is a little tough on the thumb though so the action function (when you press down on the stick) is a little sensetive when all you want to do is go left right up or down directions. Hopefully the rubber contacts underneath will soften with age.

I'm not going to comment on the sofware because I've never owned a phone like this before and I've only had it for three days so my experience in this area is minimul.

For the price you can't go wrong I must say and it's a really brilliant way to usher in a new technology because up until when I started to do some research into my next phone and I had know idea mobile phones had memory card slots and this phone was so cheap too.

Biggest drawback is no Bluetooth which is a pity as even the slowbile t68i has it for some unknown reason. Maybe by summer time we will see the launch of a bluetooth version. If it comes on sale at the same price I think I'll give my niece her phone back and i'll be down the shops before you can say Mobydick .
The battery door is a little loose so watch it.

Buy the phone get it unlocked and use it as a backup or if Three change there minds about this 30day expirey thing I might just transfer my number to them.

Purpose of the phone will be to watch anime/movies and music on the go depending on the max capacity of Transflash cards to come.
