4GB Memory Sticks for Sony K750i - any good?

I'm just after some advice really.

I want a high capacity memory card for my K750i.
The 2GB cards had caught my eye but I see several ppl
have been having problems with them. My phone will
be used til it is obsolete & eventually dies [no upgrades]
- so I want the memory to be large enough to last its
liftime as I play mp3's all day at work.

So does anyone have any experience of using the new 4GB cards
successfully in the K750i yet? It seems a card reader would
be an essential & the card/card reader pack looks ok - I just
don't wanna shell out 80 notes for something that has teething
troubles or doesn't do what it should.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I just registered here cos I wanted to sound people out on a possible scam on ebay.

Since getting a 4GB card I've been converted: I love my K750 and I just want to get more and more out of it. The next natural upgrade is a bigger card, so I've been monitoring some ebay auctions for 8GB cards over the past week or so:

Now, take a look at the seller's details (they're all from the same source). First thing you'll notice is a non-terribly-great feedback score. It was over 90% when I started with only a couple of negatives. Now it's down to 85% and his latest transactions are a flurry of red.

One comment from a disgruntled buyer is that he's contacted Sandisk who confirm the 8GB doesn't exist.

So, first off, does anyone know whether or not it's available in the UK? Secondly, does anyone know anything about this scam? And thirdly, I guess I'm saying, if you don't know whether it's a scam or not, be wary of it just in case. I'm certainly not going to get an 8GB card just yet, and certainly not from this vendor.

1G memory card won't read in my K750i

Put into the phone my new card and couldn't copy to it from my pc through the usb cable. So I formated the card using the phone, then I was able to copy over files off the pc where I had backed up my old card. No probs, I could see and view the files on the card in the phone from my pc. But the phone doesn't see the card at all! Help please. I do have one of the moby stick type card readers if needed.

Contents on memory card gets lost

Hi, I have W800i. When i transfer music files from disc2phone software, it shows me file only till i am connected. When i close the software and safely remove the hardware, then the phone does not shows the files. Sometimes it only shows few files from the copied ones. Even if it shows some copied files, they are overlapped, one song gets embedded to other.

I have tried copying from windows also, but same thing happens, it shows only untill in am connected. After removing it safely and connecting it again, it does not shows anything or only few files. The memory card size is also coming as 468MB and not 512MB.

I am connecting the phone with the usb cable provided. do not have a seperate card reader to check if card if faulty or not.

Please help me to find out if there is something wrong with my phone or memory card have some problem.

i have an apollo usb2.0 4in1 card reader i put a 64meg sony card in and for formatted the card put an mp3 on it tested it on my k750i it seen the card and song ok, then i put a 1gig sony card in the same reader and the pc locked up i couldnt format the card when iright clicked on drive letter pc locked up screen went blue etc, the 1gb card works fin in the phone but i have to transfer file with the usb data cable only, what could be wrong

USB not recognised.

I recently purchased a new USB card for my computer - my modem is USB and works fine, but when i plug in my phone it says it doesn't recognise it. Any ideas why? It charges, but nothing else.

I recently obtained a 1 GB Sony Memory Stick Duo PRO High Speed card (MSX-M1GN) but my O2 branded K750i phone does not recognise the memory stick. It has the latest firmware installed.

I cannot even format it. The phone was not connected to the PC when I inserted the memory stick.

Difference with SANDISK 2GB NORMAL and GAMING MS PRO DUO (D750i)

Just got a new D750i, I want to put a 2GB Sandisk Pro Duo in it. Whats the difference with the Sandisk 2GB GAMING and normal sticks?

I checked the advice given to Ade and did the same on my D750i but the phone still doesn't recognise the card I got the 2gb card last week and I still have to make do with the 64mb card that came with the phone as formatting the 2gb card in the D750i didn't help. I also noticed that even the phone camera doesn't recognise the card as it says 'Memory stick not available' o.s.l.t. when the cover is opened. Please help!!

The Sony K750i, W800 and D750i are internally the same piece of hardware, with a different styling/slant on the outside.

The K750i is sleek and black, and beginning to sell in big numbers here in the UK; probably seen it being heavily advertised.

The W800 is the Walkman-styled Orange mobile (it comes with a 512MB supplied), not as common on the steet yet.

The D750i is a grey style that is available exclusively through T-Mobile, and has some Operator-specific jukebox functionality built-in.

Would be great to get any feedback from owners on the relative merits between the 3 styles.. useful for any prospective buyers out there.

I've recently pruchased a 2GB SONY card for my new K750i phone and I'm experiencing various problems with it, but I'm not sure if it's feature or faulty equipment. Any advice will be appreciated.

I've imported some of my CDs to the computer and converted it to MP3 format (VBR/CBR, Lame).

The thing is, that every time I'm connecting the K750i (2GB is in it) to my laptop, it starts uploading tracks with 300kB/s speed, but after a some amount of data it lowers the speed automatically to 50kB/s. To get the 300kB/s back, I need to unplug the device and connect it back. Anyone had the same problem before?

The other thing is that the copied files will not remain on the card. For example, I've copied two directories "FolderA" and "FolderB" as one action (selected two directories and press copy). Then, if I'll select "FolderC" to copy, it will copy the directory, but after I disconnect the phone from the computer, it actually wipe out the FolderC and I have to copy it again.

I'm using Total Commander 6.53 for the files copying.

I just received my W800i and I was keen to get some songs onto it. It comes with a 512mb Memory stick with and duo adaptor. The problem is I can't get my computer to read it.

I purchased a USB Bytestor Memory Stick Reader so that I could load some MP3's on directly without having to add additional software to my computer.

I popped it in, the computer recognised new hardware and it comes up as drive F, but when I went to open the drive it asks to "insert disk into drive F". When I take the memory stick out the adapter and put it back in again it still doesn't recognise that the memory stick is in.

Does anyone know why I can't read the memory stick?

w800i corrupting memory stick beyond repair

I have a brand new w800i.

On connecting it to my mac to transfer mp3's, my computer crashed and my phone no longer recognises the memory card.
Its the card that came with the phone - a scandisk memory duo 512mb.

I've also tried to format the card in other devices but nothing will recognise it.

Searching around on other forums i see quite a few people have had similar problems with the same phone.

Any ideas??

i have been told by carphonewearhouses that it could be corrupt... i have followed the instructions on how to re format it and i only get as far as to opening 'my computer' i insert the stick and the "my computer" box only freeze's and as soon as i remove the card it is fine again. so how do i re format it? or is there something else wrong with it? please help me or has any one else experienced this?????????????????

i have a w800i and was wondering about upgrading the memory possibly to 2gb, although i notice at the moment when viewing by tracks the phone takes about 30 seconds to find all of the songs even when i havent loaded any new songs onto the phone and can get very annoying. i currently only have about 100 songs on the phone. if i decide purchase a 2gb i should be able to fit about 750 songs on it? but i'm not prepared to wait like 10 minutes for it to find all the songs before i can play them.

if i get high speed memory card will it elimite (or at least reduce) the waiting time, and what other benefits will it give me. because there is a large price jump between the ordinary and the high speed 2gb cards.

also does anyone know of anyway to stop the w800i searching for new songs each time you view all tracks. and does anyone know of anyway to view all the songs by a particular artist because at the moment i can only view each individual album (you can create a playlist but that takes alot of effort).
