I've just bought this memory card for my new Nokia N70. Mobile works fine with the standard 64mb card but it doesn't work with my 2GB MMC Mobile card (Kingston) Firmware is 5.0638.3.0.1 and the card works in USB card reader. What should I do to make it work?

Hi, sorry for the dumb question, but I am confused with MMC, MMC+ and MMCMobile.

I would like to upgrade my Nokia N70 64Mb card up to something like 1Gb or 2Gb. However, I am unsure whether I should buy an MMC, MMC+ or MMCMobile card. Which is the correct one to be compatible with my N70?

If you would like to update your nokia headset firmware yourself just follow the link to the nokia website where you can download the software to update your nokia firmware.

If you are planning on updating you firmware make sure to back up all your data on to you memory card as it will be erased in this process, also you may lose additional programs such as installed games.

You do need to have a valid connection from you pc to you phone etc. nokia cable or bluetooth for this to work.

Have just baught a N70 and have baught a GPS 32 channel WIRELESS Bluetooth reciever....

I'm on orange and want to know what version of TOM TOM MOBILE is compatiable...

I tried downloading tom tom v5 and installing by usb lead but wen I clicked on install applications there wasnt any files showing as applications to install!

Can any one help me on this and run step by step guide to how to go about it...

Also once the software is installed do u have to pay for it to work it?

I have just bought N70 phone on O2 net work.now i am looking to buy a mmc .I see on your introduction page for N70 mmc mobile,I quote " NB. Like many others in this forum I'm experiencing very poor performance with this card. I'm using a Nokia N70 with firmware v5.0609.2.0.1 01-03-06 RM-84.

With around 20% of the cards capacity used it will become too slow to practically use. I've tested the cards read (and identical write) speed (16kb block size as per the FAT file system cluster size) via a SanDisk USB2.0 card reader and a card reader I purchased from MobyMemory, on two different PC's. Below you can see the results of the generated log file. The card has been tried in a 6630 and a 6680, both of which exhibit the same problems.

i happen to buy a 1 gb mmc mobile card which initially looked fine when i loaded the soongs onto it via my card reader, but once on the phoone it didnt recognise the card after i deleted certain files via the phone. its an n70. following this i tried to open the rest of the files no joy, then i tried formatting the card with the phone and also the via the pc suite, no wonders so far.now i have really tried to contact the advise team of yours and i have to say after a few mails and phone calls i now really regret having put my money into a shop which seems to not bother about their customers and now i am trying to contact / get help via your forum. if this is what i should be expecting from mobymemory then i have to say i will discourage all the others who intend to deal with the retail shop. it is preety upseeting to have dealt with people /organisation who donot respond to their customers. all i got was an automated reply initially and then nothing. i simply opened this thread to see if i can get your attention.

I have Nokia N70 with Tom Tom mobile on a 256mb memory card (brand unknown)that is working fine.
My problem is that I want to transfer the data onto a 1gb mmc mobile memory card that I purchased from you so that I can have room for other apps/mp3s etc.
After copying the files to the 1gb mmc card I find that Tom Tom is not working.
Any ideas as to how I can get it to work or what I am doing wrong please?

Last year I purchased one of you pq1 256MB RS-MMC cards to use with my Nokia 3230. I added Tomtom mobile software to the card and it operated fine when using the phone. However I have now upgraded to a Nokia N70 and the phone does not recognise this card. When I purchased the card I also had a Motionflash 23 in 1 card reader,this worked fine when loading the Tomtom software to the card however this does not know recognise this card now either?

Do I require a different card for the N70?

Is my existing card faulty? I have tested the reader with other cards and it works fine.

Would point out the 3230 still recognises the card?

Memory card crashing N70

I recently bought a 1GB RSDVMMC card to go with my new N70, and up until a few days ago it was working fine. However, over the last few days its been driving me nuts!

I installed a few appllications, videos and songs on the card, and over the weekend, every time I removed the card (after selecting 'remove card' in the memory menu in 'tools'), and then put it back in, the phone would freeze and then I'd have to take tha battery out the back to restart it.

The phone seems to have no problems reading from the card as I was watching video on it on the train home and have been playing a few tracks from it - it only seems to throw a strop when I re-insert the card.

I've formatted it via the phone, and that seemed to fix it, although it did it again when the phone displayed 'closing applications' despite the fact I had closed them all by using 'remove memory card'.

Any idea whether the its the card of the phone at fault here? I'm getting very frustrated Any help would be greatly appreciated!

video jitters with new 1gb mmc card

Whenever i try to record videos the screen movement is very jittery nad it seems to run at about 2fps. I notice it only does this with my new 1gb card that i purchased the other day. it doesn't do it with the stock 64mb card or the internal memory. It also doesn't do it when i format the 1gb card however as soon as i add my music collection of about 200mb the video will be jittery again. do you know what the problem could be?

N70 problems

Since December 23rd I've now had FIVE N70 handsets and also had a sim card replaced. The problem with the first 4 handsets & replacement sim was that whoever I call or calls me can hear an echo of themself with @ a 1 second delay, at times this has been very bad and loud.
Well the latest handset arrived yesterday afternoon and I f****d up big style - I left my 1gb rs-dv-mmc card in the phone and I have absolutely no chance of getting it back - I tried orange and the carriers and everyone else I could think of.
So now I'm stuck with the 64mb card supplied with the handset - fortunately I did a back up of most of my contacts onto this card aswell, but so far I have not had any echo problems with this handset. Is it possible that all the time my problems were caused with this 1gb memory card ?

Hi i just purchased a Kingmax 256 mmc mobile it wont let me write to it i keep getting a windows delay write failure in my card writer, The card writer is fine works on all other cards i have.

Even if i use the card in the n70 and try to add my tomtom great britain map it reboots the phone and gets the same problem.

Hi all, i have just purchased a new 1 GB Kingston card for use with my N70. Can anyone please advise which file format i should be using?

I tried formatting the card in FAT format, and using that, i can copy everything from my comp to the card to the limit of 995MB. However, my N70 is not able to read the car and the display indicates that i have a corrupted memory card.

I also tried formatting the card in FAT32 format, this time, my N70 is able to read the card and the files inside it, however, my comp will stop writing files to the card after about 200+ MB and it reads "cannot created file (name)".

This has been troubling me the whole night, Hope there is some kind soul there that is able to help me.

Nokia N70 as an MP3 player?

I have a 6230 at the moment and I am due an upgrade. Can anyone comment on the functionality of the MP3 player of the N70? What's it like? Easy to use? Does the software it uses to create playlists work well?

From what I have seen of the phone it is very good, so the MP3 player functionality is what I think would possibly swing it for me. I am torn between the N70 and the 6230i (mainly because you can get a 2gb card for this already).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Which is stated to work with my Nokia N70, yet it does not seem to be reconised by the phone - keep getting, 'memory card not inserted' message when I try to check the memory left on the card. It is defo placed in the phone correctly.

My phones firmware is: V 2.0537.1.7 18-09-05 and is a T-Mobile phone.
