I selected the music player within the Nokia 6230i phone and it took about 30 second to load up the tracks, the MP3 tracks played perfectly and music titles displayed on main screen but I had serious problem with M4A, ACC formatted tracks. They seemed to skip a lot. Some track would play about 1-2 seconds and then skip to the next track. Often the M4A, ACC tracks would play for 2 or 3 minutes and still skip, it drove me mad. Occasionally some tracks would play out in the M4A, ACC. The other issue was the artist/track titles where not displaying correctly on the screen. There were showing up as strange symbols like squares and †††† but this was the case with MP3 files.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The other point I would like to bring up was the issue I had with the Nokia 32mb card in both my 6230 & 6230i cards and <st1:stockticker>AAC</st1:stockticker> formats. I had the same issue with the tracks skipping on the 32mb card also in the past.

So in the end I loaded up about 2G of the card with my favourite tracks and Podcasts in MP3 format and converted the other M4A, ACC tracks to MP3 format and that has resolved the issue with skipping tracks and strange symbols.

My Phones Details (can be got by entering *#0000# on the phone)

Firmware

V 03.70

<st1:date Month="1" Day="9" Year="2006">09-Jan-06</st1:date>

RM-72

GSM P1.1

(c) NMP

Another issue I have is with the transfer of the tracks through Nokia Music Player application & the Nokia DKU-2 card, It’s extremely slow; well that’s when I decided to transfer about 24 tracks at one time. I fortunately had purchased a 6 card reader PC card for my Dell laptop 6 months ago for my digital camera card and I was lucky that the <st1:stockticker>MMC</st1:stockticker> plus card is campatible with it. I can now take the card from the phone and load the MP3 tracks/podcasts in a 1/4 of the time.

Hope this Helps.

6230i & 2Gb MMC playlist issues

Hello guys,

I hope some can help me..!

My setup is:

6320i / NNM v2.0 (PC Suite 6.82.21.0) / FW 3.80 / Transcend 2gb MMC

1. I copied tracks via NMM to my collection to convert to AAC format.

2. I then copied the tracks using card reader slot on my laptop to my MMC card. This is all ok - about 1.9gb worth of tracks.

My problems are:

1. When I open music player - the track numbers are lsted, but the titles appear as square boxes?!!

2. I bought a dku-2 usb cable - as I'd read you can't copy playlists without it...however, when it's connected (only seems to work in non-data storage mode); I used the phone browser to copy playlists to it. However, when I browse the phone - I don't see any directory called "playlists". Where is it?

Hope that all makes sense?!!

Or should I give up using NNM?

Thanks in advance!
