Hi,

Has anyone successfully upgraded the miniSD card in this phone? I've had different information from Nokia, Carphone Warehouse and this website so would like to know before I buy the wrong card!

Nokia allegedly sell a 512MB card but I can't find this anywhere and it seems pretty small, too, considering that other companies makes 2Gb cards...

Cheers. RJ

Hi there,

I read somewhere that the nokia 6280 could just manage 1GB miniSD and nokia are selling 1GB card. Does the phone manage the 2GB and can we really see a 2GB filesystem ?

Thanks for informations guys

Your phone will cope with the 2gb card but do you really need it, the problem with the 2gb cards from what i have been told is that they slow the phone down too much due to the time it takes to search them, its your choice.

A friend of mine at work has the 6280 and has a 1 gb card he bought from Moby and it works fine, with no slow down.

I have a 6270 (I know there are different models, but they are practically the same phone minus the 3G element) and I have a 2gb Moby Memory card that works absolutely fine and doesn't slow down my phone at all. I have had it about a fortnight now and I have had no problems at all.

I just receive the 1 GB moby memory mini SD card for my 6280 and it works fine. I just turn off the phone to switch to the new card and all is as simple.

It needs around 45 min to upload a 470 Meg file from the PC to the phone !!! A bit long to use as a USB data key, but with 1 GB I can take high definition pics ( up to 600 kB) and videos, so I'm very happy.

Have a go guys, it's worth to do it.

``it needs around 45 min to upload a 470 Meg file from the PC to the phone ``

why won`t you buy a usb card reader.it`s cheap and saves you a lot of time, especially for you because you have hot swap i think.I need myself to turn off the phone and remove the battery to exchange memory card but still the reader helps
