Posted 8/30/2006 12:09 PM | | | Another problem - seems like this technology is pretty rubbish at the moment, doesn't it? I have a SanDisk 2gig miniSD that I bought to go in my 6280. The phone will only format it with 63MB capacity. I can format it in XP using a card reader to 1.89 GB, but then when I put it back in the phone, it tells me it's 63 MB again. Is there a max limit to what the 6280 will see for storage of vids, etc on the card? How do I use it to it's full capacity in the phone? Any help appreciated. |

we tend not to recommend formatting in phones, but to only format with a (confirmed) compatible card reader connected to a PC.
you may find that the full capacity of the card is fully accessible from your nokia 6280 phone, and its just a "reporting/display issue" in the firmware. certainly this was the case with other nokia models. try loading more than 63Mb of file content onto your 2gb minisd memory card from your PC-card reader connection and then access/read/delete the files from your phone (when the card is inserted back into it).
this should prove, either way, whether the issue is just a display issue (on capacity) or a more serious firmware bug affecting access to the file contents of the card.
hope that helps.
