| Posted 10/11/2006 9:43 PM | | | I'm just after some advice really.
I want a high capacity memory card for my K750i. The 2GB cards had caught my eye but I see several ppl have been having problems with them. My phone will be used til it is obsolete & eventually dies [no upgrades] - so I want the memory to be large enough to last its liftime as I play mp3's all day at work.
So does anyone have any experience of using the new 4GB cards successfully in the K750i yet? It seems a card reader would be an essential & the card/card reader pack looks ok - I just don't wanna shell out 80 notes for something that has teething troubles or doesn't do what it should. Any advice would be appreciated.
TIA |
| Posted 3/12/2007 11:08 AM | | | Hi, I've been using my 4GB card for about a month now and I'm loving it. The card reader is a very useful bit of kit too, highly recommended. Why's it so good? Well, it means that instead of having to repair my iPod - again - I just bought me a card and now I just carry one item around with me. And the extra capacity enables you to do so much more. Now, as well as listening to MP3s I also carry about 10 movies encoded in 3gp around with me - this morning I finished watching Donnie Darko and started watching Lord of the Rings I on the tube! A highly recommended piece of software to do this is this: http://www.xilisoft.com/dvd-to-3gp-converter.html I tried loads of other apps, shareware, freeware and demos, and this is by far the best out there. Very intuitive and flexible even though the interface has some English 'funnies' and there's no help (and you don't really need help because it's so well put together). I'd also recommend one of these to get around having to use the slightly nasty earphones: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/for-Sony-Ericsson-W800-K750-K610-Headphone-Adapter_W0QQitemZ110102008748QQihZ001QQcategoryZ20347QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem The *only* problem I've encountered so far is that the sound recorder doesn't work. This is odd because I can record videos with sound (up to 10MB in one go!) and voicemail, but the sound recorder flat refuses to work. That's all. Apart from that it's completely stable, reliable, does everything you would expect from 4GB. I'm just looking out for an 8GB version now. There are some very dodgy-looking auctions going down on ebay which I'm also asking about on this forum (in fact it's why I just registered...) So, go for it. It really does turn the phone into quite an incredible piece of kit. Cheers Brendan again etc |

Did you use any trick to get your phone to recognise a 4Gb stick? Via my PC no problem with smaller sticks, but nogo on 4Gb.
Thanks. |
| Posted 7/31/2007 8:25 AM | | | | Hi, I've got K750i with 4Gb Sony Memory stick pro duo, I don't have a card reader, so can only transfer files through USB lead to phone, so the following is based on this setup. Initially I had problems getting mp4/3gp files to play, and also uploading additional music to add to what was already on the memory stick. If I transferred an mp4 file, it would go onto the memory stick, but playback would fail, also mp3 files (using sonys disc to phone software) would not appear on the phone even though the software appeared to transfer them over. To get over this I found that if I format the memory card, then transfer all the video files in one go and then all the music files in one go, everything works fine. The problems seem to come from trying to add to existing files on the memory stick (don't know why). Also as another member stated the sound recorder function does not work with the 4Gb card in, which is no great loss, however if you want that function, just eject the memory card and the recorder will use the phones internal memory instead. |
